Introducing Warby Parker's 1922 Collection

Warby Parker is launching a new line of eyewear today and Jolie Jouel readers are getting the first look!

The new line - The 1922 Collection - is inspired by the trends and retro style of the year 1922.  The collection is perfect for those who are looking for a retro throw back, something unique, and have a soft spot for the year that James Joyce published Ulysses and T.S. Eliot published The Wasteland; Eugene O’Neill won a Pulitzer; Louis Armstrong moved to Chicago; and the dances were a hoot.

The line features three three new frames, available for eyeglasses and in a sunglasses version, with retro details set in custom acetate and lightweight stainless steel.
And just like all Warby Parker collections, for every pair sold, they will distribute a pair to someone in need. So you can feel good while looking good.

Enjoy perusing the looks below! And be sure to let me know what you think about the new collection in the comments.

Seasonal Look: Metallic Accessories for Winter

In my opinion, the best time for shinny, icy, metallic accessories is in the winter. The high shine finish is reminiscent of winter, snow, and ice and actually brightens an otherwise dull look.  So throw on your favourite metallic bracelet for a blinding arm-party or pop on those reflective sunglasses to keep the glare out of your eyes. Any way you choose to wear it, metallic accessories are just right for winter.

1. Alexander McQueen Metallic glossed-leather cardholder
2. Rebecca Minkoff Heart Bracelet
3. Deepa Gurnani Metallic Petal Cuff
4. Ray-Ban Mirrored Cats 5000 Aviator Sunglasses
5. Rebecca Minkoff Little Louie Metallic Leather Key Pouch
6. CC Skye Pave Studded Cuff
7. Hive & Honey Hammered Metal Cuff
8. Michael Kors Glam Studded High Top
9. Kate Spade Passport Holder
10. House of Harlow 1960 Skull Vial Necklace
11. Free People Metallic Belt

Sunglasses Report

Left: Brand: Spy. Model: Dallas.                       Right: Brand: Smith Optics. Model: Ramsey in "mint".

These are the last two pairs of sunglasses that I own. I used to have a pair of black Ralph Lauren ones...that I lost...and then I replaced those with a pair of black Tom Fords. I have since, ahem, misplaced those as well. I hope my husband isn't reading this. He knows. But he doesn't need to be reminded.  So I am definitely in the market for some new black or tortoise shell sunglasses.

Inspired by the beautiful weather that is upon us I decided that an eye wear post - jewelry for your eyes, anyone? - was not only appropriate but very timely. It's time to pull out your old sunnies, or look for some new ones.  If you're in the market, I pulled some great options, below.  I've included some more affordable options for us losers...wait, that doesn't sound right..."misplacers" sounds better.  And some more expensive eye wear for those of you who can afford them and rarely misplace things.
