Friendship Bracelets

There's no better time to pile on the friendship bracelets than in the summer. These soft, bright bracelets have a casual feel and stir up memories of long days at camp, sun kissed locks, sandy toes, and best friends.

Line Lust: Lauren Elan Collections SS14

I am thrilled to share Lauren Elan Collections' newest Spring/Summer line! After a brief hiatus following the birth of her daughter, Lauren is back, inspired, and better than ever. Summer Favorites

Here's a round-up of my summer favorites! I can hardly believe it's almost September and the summer is nearly over (hashtag "things white girls say"). I thought before we get too deep into Fall fashion I'd do a round-up of the products I've been loving over the summer months. Here are my faves in fashion, beauty, and around the home.

Fashion:

1. This American Eagle jean jacket is a great layering piece for throwing on during those cool August nights (or not so hot days).

2. Dolce Vita black sandals with gold bar - I wore these non-stop this summer. The gold detail is perfect sparkly little detail.

3. Jennie Kwon Onyx ring - I've posted about this ring so much I should be blue in the face. But it's my favorite so it deserves to be mentioned again!

4. Ariel Gordon Lariat necklace - This is at the top of my wishlist right now. 

Beauty:

5. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - This stuff tames even the most dry and frazzeled summer hair. It is my holy grail product du jour.

6. Nars The Muliple in Copacabana - This gives me a subtle summer glow, without going over the top. It highlights like a champ.

7. Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La Lilac - The perfect sheer pop color for summer.

8. Try Nars Nepal eyeshadow for that "Blake Lively" beachy look.

9. Good Morning Beautiful Mug. What a way to start the day!

10. Gold heart - This gold heart is on my wishlist for baby girl's nursery. I think her doctor Daddy would approve.

11. Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender. I have used this hand blender nearly every morning this summer to make a breakfast smoothie. 

My current fave: 1 cup of milk, 1 heaped tbsp on peanutbutter, 1 banana, and 1 package of Starbucks instant via coffee.

12. Orange is the New Black - PTL for Netflix because summer TV is non-existent.

'Cuffed

I spent the weekend in the water at our family cottage. It was hot, sunny, and all around the perfect summer weekend. 

This weekend I also tried out a new summer accessory - the anklet. Anklets are the perfect summer jewelry piece.  While ankles are hidden beneath pants and boots for much of the year, summer is the time for showing off those gams! Nothing draws attention down better than an anklet.

This cheeky, gold handcuffed anklet from Max and Chloe is a fun addition to my jewelry box.  I love the dainty chain and the cuff charms double as the clasp.

Line Lust: Lulu Frost's Turbans

Mega jewelry brand (and personal favourite) Lulu Frost is trying their hand at headwear! Take a look at these boho chic turbans, available on their site. These printed hairbands, epitomizing left bank Parisian style, look like the perfect hair accessory for a hot summer. For days when I just feel like throwing my hair up in a messy bun and keeping loose hairs off my face, this seems like the perfect solution. Available in 5 fun prints.

It's June! And besides being baby month for me (yippee!) the sun and warmer weather are here and are here to stay. I've rounded up some of the best new sunglasses for the season. Colour Moment: Chartreuse

Bright colours and neon shades are being ushered in as the temperatures continue to rise. So ditch your greys, taupes, and black in favour of a little splash of colour. One of my favorites is a bright chartreuse. Clumsy name, but this colour gives a sleek and polished look. At the very least we can accent our wardrobe with a little colour, right?!

Trend Spotting: Braided Jewelry

There is something about summer that brings out the braids. Think french-braided buns, tiny accent braids sweeping across your crown, and braided jewelry. Friendship bracelets abound in the summer and one of the easiest and quickest ways to work your embroidery thread or chord is to braid it. Other designers have used heavier metal material for braiding for a look that is decidedly grown-up yet laid back. Here are my favorite braided jewelry below!

Do or Don't: Jewelry at the Beach

Is jewelry with a bikini entirely editorial or perfectly practical? When you hit the beach or weekend at the cottage, do you remove all of your jewelry or pile it on for a stylish look?

When I am in a bikini I tend to shed my jewelry so that I can play in the water without fear of losing my pretty baubles. Also, funny tan lines, anyone? Tell me in the comments below what you do when you hit the beach!

Line Lust: BaubleBar X Noble House Designs

BaubleBar has done this genius thing - every Thursday they team up with a new designer (sometimes a well known name and other time's a new face) for a designer Pop-Up Shop.
