Celebrity Jewelry Style: Lucy Hale

Pretty Little Liars is my Guilty Little Pleasure. Can we talk about the season finale for a moment?! I don't want to spoil anything for those of you who are not yet caught up, BUT who they have us believing is 'A' when the episode ends is a little crazy/heartbreaking/shocking. I digress...

Do or Don't? Mismatched Wedding Band


Keira Knightly recently showed off her newly minted wedding band and it certainly was a surprise! While her engagement ring is set in platinum she chose a plain yellow gold wedding band. Mixing metals is common place today, but it's rare to see a wedding band set in different tones. Perhaps she'll start the newest wedding ring trend?

MET Gala 2013 Jewelry Round-Up

The 2013 Metropolitan Museum's annual Costume Institute Gala - commonly known as the MET Gala - did not disappoint. The stars brought the glamour in their best fashion-forward attire and accessories all while feting the museum's "Punk: Chaos to Couture" theme.

First things first, how is it possible that Rachel McAdams looks amazing with every single hair colour? That's just not fair. Aside from seeming refreshingly humble, being a fellow Canadian, and a true style chameleon, Rachel has great accessorizing prowess. Never over doing it, and choosing pieces that fit beautifully with her attire, Rachel has a simple yet dramatic jewelry style. Every fashionista's favorite set of twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, are under our jewelry style microscope today. These two pint-sized moguls are ironically fashionable. With their center-parted blonde locks, signature sunglasses, and cutting edge fashions, they're always on the top (or bottom!) of someone's fashion list.

Alphabet Soup

There is no question that people love wearing personalized things. This is especially true when it comes to representing their initials. It's like giving away a little secret, "Hey, my name starts with 'A' and I love it. But that's all I'll tell you."

Then came the "baby initial trend" adding fuel to the initial's fire. Made popular by chic celebrity Moms like Nicole Richie and Katie Holmes who proudly donned their kid's initials after they were born, it is now quite common to wear your child's initial on a pendant. Jessica Simpson even wore an "M" pendant before baby Maxwell was born, giving a big hint about her baby's name and making baby stalkers drool. Celebrity Moms tend to favor Jennifer Meyer's Diamond Letter necklaces. Confession: I can totally see myself doing this when the time comes :)

And now, thanks to bloggers like Blair Eadie, monogrammed jewelry is totally in vogue. While traditionally reserved for fancy towels and robes, monograms have shaken off their stuffy vibe for one that is now decidedly cool.

Jewelry Round-Up: Best of the 2012 Emmys

Last night the Emmys were live and I was glued to my TV (with wine and Indian food) taking in all of the celebrity fashion and jewelry trends. There was a ton of color this year at the Emmys (think jewel tones like red, yellow, green and blue dresses) and the jewelry was equally dramatic.

The first and biggest trend of the night: statement earrings. The ladies rocked spectacular, bold, and glitzy earrings. Half of the lustworthy pairs were large studs reminiscent of the 80s (Sarah Hyland, Emily VanCamp, and Ginnifer Goodwin) and the other half were glamorous dangling earrings (Heidi Klum, Guiliana Rancic, and Juilianna Margulies).

The other Emmy jewelry trend on the red carpet was colorful, bold rings. I was so happy with all of the fun rings. We all know I love I good cocktail ring and last night had me swooning. And one of my favorite pieces of the night? Emily VanCamp's glitzy bow bracelet. Love. Noticeably absent? Necklaces.

My friends know that I am a big Jennifer Lopez fan. There is just something inexplicable that I love about her. I could go on and on about her individual qualities (her voice, her nose, that glow, the hair...) but I'll spare you. Instead, let's talk about her style. One day she's a glamed-up diva, the next, Jenny-from-the-Block, and another day posh-office-chic.  She's a style chameleon. One thing that never changes? Her awesome accessories. Not matter what the style, she accessorizes like a pro adding just the right amount of sparkle.

Do or Don't: Celebrity Jewelry Lines

Everything the Kardashians touch seems to turn to gold, and for Kim Kardashian’s jewelry line, Belle Noel, this is literally seems to be true. The jewelry line features modern and reasonably affordable statement necklaces, chunky bracelets, bold earrings, and cocktail rings.

But tell me, what do you think about celebrity fashion and jewelry lines? Does it make you want to wear an item more or less if it has a celebrity name attached to it? Would you wear Belle Noel?

In this instance, the celebrity name makes me want to wear it less. If I didn't know know Kim Kardashian was associated with Belle Noel, I'd be more likely to buy it. I am not sure why, seeing as I tune in weekly to Keeping Up With the Kardashians and seem to be quite entertained. I think she's hard working, pretty, and has good style. I also like the pieces. But a part of me would feel slightly embarrassed buying and wearing her jewelry. Can anyone relate?

With her enviable blonde wavy hair, comfortable, free-flowing style, and megawatt smile, Kate Hudson is undoubtedly one of my style icons.  Kate has a knack for accessorizing. She often sports a fun, large statement ring, long bohemian necklaces, or flirty earrings.  Speaking to  Harper's BAZAAR Kate playfully highlighted her love of jewelry. "My bauble," she says, fishing it out of her roomy bag to spruce up her current ensemble of an Under Armour vest and Adidas sweatpants and running shoes. "There," she says, grinning. "Now I feel better." Don't we all feel a little better with that special piece of jewelry that somehow makes us feel unique and put together?
