Wedding Jewelry: Round-Up

If you have a wedding this spring or summer it's time to start honing in on the details...like your jewelry! Choosing your wedding jewelry is a very important decision as your special day (and your jewelry!) will be immortalized in photographs. Years down the road you'll likely still have a framed wedding photo hanging around and your kids will want to see the day you married their Daddy.

As you can see, choosing your bridal jewelry is a very serious decision. You'll want to look for something that can stand the test of time and fits your style. Are you normally outgoing and love show-stopping pieces? Then going bigger with a statement type piece is ok. If you're normally understated and classic, you'll want to look for daintier, classic wedding jewelry like rhinestones and pearls.

I for one love bejeweled hair pieces and clips for an unexpected sparkle and charm.  Swoop your hair back to one side with a vintage pin or have a clip poking out from underneath your up-do.

Here's a look at some of my favourite wedding appropriate jewelry pieces available today.

Hoop Earrings Round-Up

In high school I could often be found wearing large silver hoops. They were my go-to accessory. And well, everything old is new again! I've been noticing everyone from style bloggers like Sincerely, Jules to celebrities like Ashley Madekwe and Rhinana rocking this trend.  So now I am on the hunt for a new pair of hoops (since I've since lost/thrown out my faithful '90s pair). Here are the options that I've gathered up below!

1. Astley Clarke, Sea Shell Hoop Earrings, $135
2. Jennifer Zeuner Jewelry, Small Hoop Earrings, $99
4. ASOS, Flat Hoop Earrings $16.95
5. Lucky Brand, Medium Oblong Hoop Earrings, $20
6. Tophop, Smooth Round Hoop Earrings, £7.50
7. Gorjana, Arc Large Hoop Earrings, $54

Gossip Girl Finale: Jewelry Round-Up

Gossip Girl has been revealed and the main characters got hitched. Time to say goodbye to our weekly dose of fashion inspiration from the upper east side.  To commemorate such an occasion, I thought I'd do a jewelry round on the series finale of Gossip Girl. Will you miss this show or was it getting to odd for you?

Jewelry Round-Up: The 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Sunday night brought out a bevy of pretty faces, short frocks, and bejeweled bodies. Here are the standouts in the jewelry category for the night:
*All photos from PopSugar.com
Earrings gave way to rings at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night. Simple studs were the jewelry of choice on the red carpet with not much else going on in the ear department. Statement rings on the other hand were front and center and a few stacked bangles also made appearances. Notably missing from the evening? Necklaces.

What did you think of the jewelry at the MTV Movie Awards - young and flirty or off the mark?
