Summer Favorites

Here's a round-up of my summer favorites! I can hardly believe it's almost September and the summer is nearly over (hashtag "things white girls say"). I thought before we get too deep into Fall fashion I'd do a round-up of the products I've been loving over the summer months. Here are my faves in fashion, beauty, and around the home.

Fashion:
1. This American Eagle jean jacket is a great layering piece for throwing on during those cool August nights (or not so hot days).
2. Dolce Vita black sandals with gold bar - I wore these non-stop this summer. The gold detail is perfect sparkly little detail.
3. Jennie Kwon Onyx ring - I've posted about this ring so much I should be blue in the face. But it's my favorite so it deserves to be mentioned again!
4. Ariel Gordon Lariat necklace - This is at the top of my wishlist right now.

Beauty:
5. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - This stuff tames even the most dry and frazzeled summer hair. It is my holy grail product du jour.
6. Nars The Muliple in Copacabana - This gives me a subtle summer glow, without going over the top. It highlights like a champ.
7. Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La Lilac - The perfect sheer pop color for summer.
8. Try Nars Nepal eyeshadow for that "Blake Lively" beachy look.

Home:
9. Good Morning Beautiful Mug. What a way to start the day!
10. Gold heart - This gold heart is on my wishlist for baby girl's nursery. I think her doctor Daddy would approve.
11. Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender. I have used this hand blender nearly every morning this summer to make a breakfast smoothie.
My current fave: 1 cup of milk, 1 heaped tbsp on peanutbutter, 1 banana, and 1 package of Starbucks instant via coffee.
12. Orange is the New Black - PTL for Netflix because summer TV is non-existent.

Must Have Jewelry for Fall

I don't know about you, but Fall is my favourite season for fashion. I love the reintroduction of rich colours, snuggly knits, and leather boots. I also love switching up my jewelry, retiring my friendship bracelets and neon necklaces for more metallic and refined pieces. Here are my top jewelry must-haves for  Fall 2013.

What are you looking most forward to wearing this Fall?

Trend Spotting: Lariat Necklaces

First of all, what is a lariat you ask? It's basically a rope or cord looped into a lasso shape. So these necklaces break away from the traditional oblong circle mold, and instead, loops through itself leaving a singular long trendral.

I first spotted the Jennifer Zeuner lariat necklaces on bloggers like the Glamourai and Sincerely Jules. I've had my eye on a JZ lariat necklace for months - definitely near the top of my wishlist! There is something sexy about the long trailing end of a lariat necklace. Wear it over top of your favorite blouse or tuck in the end having the tail sneaking away, leaving something to the imagination.

My favorite lariat necklaces below!

1. Jennifer Zeuner Rayna Eye Lariat Necklace
2. Kelacala Q Rock On Drop Necklace
3. Ariel Gordon Diamond Lariat Necklace
4. Blanca Monrós Gómez Diamond Seed Lariat
5. Fallon Jewelry Classique Lariat Necklace
6. Jennifer Zeuner Theresa Lariat Necklace
7. Jennifer Fisher Gold Small Knife Lariat Necklace
8. Mara Carrizo Scalise Dew Cable Necklace

Trend Spotting: Chain Rings

Chain rings are becoming more and more popular. Instead of a solid, immovable ring base, these rings are taking a cue from necklaces and bracelets and are made up of chain, usually featuring and accent or pendant.  Although, some chain and ball chain rings are pure chain without a stone or pendant. These rings are super comfortable, soft, and flexible. Will you be giving them a try?

1. Tiny Gold Chain rings, Catbird
2. 14K Chain Ring with Diamond, Vale
3. Chloe Chain Ring, Gorjana
4. Soft Ball Gold Chain ring, Gabriela Artigas (rose gold here)
5. Kennedy Chain Ring, Gorjana
6. 14K Chain & Band Ring, Vale
7. Ariel Gordon Diamond & Gold Chain Ring, Max & Chloe
8. 14K Faceted Bead Chain Ring, Vale
9. Cashmere Chain Rings, Erica Weiner
10. Mini Horseshoe Chain Rings (Silver & Gold), Alibi

Trend Spotting: Open Heart Rings

A hollow heart usually isn't a good thing; but when it comes to dainty little rings, they're just what the doctor ordered! These rings are trendy, sweet, and easy to stack. Here are the top three on my radar:

Get the Look: Chunky Meets Dainty Rings

Lately I've been loving dainty, thin, plain rings.  But my old, tried and true self will always have a weak spot for chunky, stone, statement rings. Can my two loves live harmoniously? This image from my Pinterest proves that it can be done and demonstrates us how we can incorporate both looks on the same hand without it looking too gaudy or mismatched.  Here's how you can recreate the look!

1. Robyn Rhodes Gold and Crystal Sappho Ring, Max & Chloe
2. Aurélie Bidermann18-karat rose gold-dipped lace ring
3. C A T B I R D Mignon Memory Ring, rose gold
4. House of Harlowe 1960 Rose Gold Spike ring
5. Rosette Ring, Vale
6. Gabriela Artigas Single White Diamond Ring
7. Mini Pave Diamond Ring, Ariel Gordon Jewelry

Colour Moment: Rose Gold and Black

We all know that rose gold is the metal of the moment. Boyfriend watches, dainty necklaces, and thin rings abound in quirky and unexpected rose gold. One of the best colour combinations with rose gold, is black. Wear your bf watch with a black blouse and you'll see how it really pops. The same goes for black diamond accents within the jewelry. While white diamonds can get lost in the piece, black really stands out and creates a look that is bold and modern.
Here are a few of my favourite rose gold and black jewelry pieces:
