Over the Rainbow

One year ago I did a post on ombre jewelry (here) and my obsession is still going strong. My favourite piece from my round-up was (and still is!) this Elisa Solomon ombre eternity band (shop it here and here).

The ring is handcrafted in 18K gold and features multi-coloured stones including pink sapphire, garnet, citrine, blue sapphire, emerald, peridot, aquamarine, and amethyst. It's like having a little rainbow wrapped around your finger! It's so unique and I love the sunny, bright colours for summer. I wore it stacked up with a few other favourites for a friend's wedding --but it wears equally as well alone. Welcome to my everyday rotation, little rainbow!

Squared Circle

I love the subtle details that makes a piece of jewelry special and unique. The slightly squared shape of these rings by LA Kasier make them stand out from a sea of other brass stacking rings. Complete with grey marcasite cabochons these rings are subtle yet stunning. They would look great spread out across a sea of fingers or stacked even higher on one finger. Perhaps I'll be buying more!

Line Lust: Jennie Kwon Designs Fall/Winter 2014

I fell head over heals in love with Jennie Kwon Designs last year when she made her debut. Known for her dainty stacking rings, delicate bracelets, and petite necklaces, Jennie's new collection offers a fresh take on the original. Her rings have become a bit bolder, she's working with more stones, and she's introduced edgy ear cuffs and chokers into the collection.

Favorites of mine include the chunkier cuff ring (original here), the grey diamond slice ring, the stacked cuff ring,  and the white diamond peal cuff.

You can find all of her designs - old and new - here.

Currently Loving: March 2014 ed.

The sun is shining, the snow is melting, and spring is just around the corner. It has to be! This has been one of the worst (read: coldest) winters in recent memory. I am so ready for spring and really, summer. Here are my March favourites and the products I am using and loving as we head into spring.

1. These red wines. I just got my clear braces off (yes, adult braces, ugh! So happy to have this chapter behind me!) which meant no red wine or else be cursed with stained ugly brown brackets. 20 months later, I am indulging in my favourite reds again. These two reds were consumed last week and are just as good as I remember. Maybe better.

2. Yay for t-shirt weather (well, almost!). Loving these graphic tees from J.Crew, and bonus, they're currently on sale with code HAPPYSHOPPING.  Floral  // These Are The Days // C'est La Vie //

3. Aveda Hand Relief. This cream is a little pricey but so amazing and indulgent. It smells divine and is the only reason my hands aren't totally chapped this winter.

4. Vale Staple ring. This ring is simple, beautiful, easy, and everyday cool. (Also pictured is my Jennie Kwon open cuff equilibrium ring. I've posted about it ad nauseum and is safely an all-time favourite!)

5. Happy. A pleasant reminder in a mess of gold chains.

6. House of Cards season 2 on Netflix. We're savouring these episodes because once they're done, they're done. And then the waiting begins again.

7. Thumb rings. I've started wearing a thin twisted gold band on my thumb and I am kind of loving it. Inspired by Emily.

8. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I had a gift card to Sephora that I'd been saving since Christmas. I finally made my choice and went with Hourglass' super pretty, sheer, glowy powder in Dim Light. I can't really describe it, but it just makes my face bright and awake. It's sheer so you can't really see it. Which is maybe the beauty of it? You'll just look brighter.

Fall Favourites

Autumn is my favourite season, which makes this post my favourite of the favourites! Here are my favourite things from the 2013 fall season.

Rings
I love layering and stacking my rings. I am completely head over heals with black stones at the moment and love how my two Jennie Kwon rings go so well together. One is onyx, the other, black diamonds.

Purple nail polish
This nail polish didn't chip for the better of a week. That never happens for me. Between insane amounts of typing and caring for a 5 month old, this is a feat unto itself. I also love that this is a true purple, swaying from the typical dark burgundy-near-black hue that permeates the season. Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure in Trouble Maker.

The Walking Dead

This cleanser feels rich, moisturizing, and totally indulgent. My skin loves it.  Did I mention it's an exfoliating oil? The perfect one-two punch for cooler temps.

Pumpkin muffins
In the past two months, I have made these muffins more times than I care to admit.  I adapted this Kraft pumpkin loaf recipe for muffins. I left out the cream cheese and added chocolate chips. Heaven.

Succulents

Sweater dresses
I am loving this sweater dress from Tart Collections for fall. It's so easy to throw on and instantly looks polished and thought-out. Not to mention, the two tone side panels are totally slimming.

Spook-tacular Jewelry

With Hallowe'en just days away, I thought I'd round-up the some of the spookiest-yet-wearable jewelry. You know, just in case you want to forgo the pink wig and fishnet stockings for a more subtle take on dressing up for the holiday. You'll be the envy of all of those dripping in uncomfortable face paint in any of these spooky pieces.

Trend Spotting: Open Cuff Rings

I just got back from a trip to LA where I shopped Robertson, the Grove, the Santa Monica 3rd Street Promenade looking for a cuff ring. Sadly, I returned empty handed. So here we are with an online round-up of my favorite open cuff rings. Aren't they pretty?

Embracing Fall: Coats, Booties, and Moody Jewelry

Wearing: Zara Coat, Cake for Breakfast tee, Piperlime booties (similar), Rebecca Minkoff bag (similar), American Eagle sunglasses

Look at me posing like a personal style blogger by some graffiti downtown. This is harder (and more embarassing!) than it looks. Bloggers make it look so easy. Maybe it is easy for the effortless cool and beautiful. I kind of wanted to run and hide every time someone walked by.

I am loving this Zara jacket with faux leather sleeves for fall. And I couldn't be more excited to be wearing boots again! I finished off the look with a soft ampersand tee, dark jewelry, and some shades.

The Full Finger Ring

full finger ring, c/o Kami Lerner // onyx ring, Jennie Kwon // necklace, Vale //

With the arrival of cooler temps and heavier knits and layers, jewelry lovers can safely switch out their dainty jewelry for heavier, edgier pieces. This full finger ring is the perfect example of a piece that might seem too clunky, warm, and bold for summer, but fits right in with the autumnal weather.

And here's a glimpse of my wee Sage. Loving her moccasins for autumn!

Summer Favorites

Here's a round-up of my summer favorites! I can hardly believe it's almost September and the summer is nearly over (hashtag "things white girls say"). I thought before we get too deep into Fall fashion I'd do a round-up of the products I've been loving over the summer months. Here are my faves in fashion, beauty, and around the home.

Fashion:
1. This American Eagle jean jacket is a great layering piece for throwing on during those cool August nights (or not so hot days).
2. Dolce Vita black sandals with gold bar - I wore these non-stop this summer. The gold detail is perfect sparkly little detail.
3. Jennie Kwon Onyx ring - I've posted about this ring so much I should be blue in the face. But it's my favorite so it deserves to be mentioned again!
4. Ariel Gordon Lariat necklace - This is at the top of my wishlist right now.

Beauty:
5. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - This stuff tames even the most dry and frazzeled summer hair. It is my holy grail product du jour.
6. Nars The Muliple in Copacabana - This gives me a subtle summer glow, without going over the top. It highlights like a champ.
7. Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La Lilac - The perfect sheer pop color for summer.
8. Try Nars Nepal eyeshadow for that "Blake Lively" beachy look.

Home:
9. Good Morning Beautiful Mug. What a way to start the day!
10. Gold heart - This gold heart is on my wishlist for baby girl's nursery. I think her doctor Daddy would approve.
11. Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender. I have used this hand blender nearly every morning this summer to make a breakfast smoothie.
My current fave: 1 cup of milk, 1 heaped tbsp on peanutbutter, 1 banana, and 1 package of Starbucks instant via coffee.
12. Orange is the New Black - PTL for Netflix because summer TV is non-existent.

Must Have Jewelry for Fall

I don't know about you, but Fall is my favourite season for fashion. I love the reintroduction of rich colours, snuggly knits, and leather boots. I also love switching up my jewelry, retiring my friendship bracelets and neon necklaces for more metallic and refined pieces. Here are my top jewelry must-haves for  Fall 2013.

What are you looking most forward to wearing this Fall?

Line Lust: Jennie Kwon Designs

I recently featured a "Get the Look" and had no idea where the original image came from. I was thrilled to discover Jennie Kwon Designs (via an Of a Kind email) and find the designer of the jewelry I had been lusting over a few weeks ago. I am especially a fan of her cuff rings - one has been added to my mental wish list!

Jennie changed careers a few times before becoming a jewelry designer. From violinist to lawyer she became a designer when life intervened with the birth of her twins.  Their perfect innocence and beauty sparked a rebirth of creativity.  From there, Jennie Kwon Designs was born.

A native of Los Angeles, Jennie's designs reflect the art, beauty and vision she is surrounded by daily.  Each piece is thoughtfully designed to be graceful and wearable, yet add that unique accent to the every day and capture the effortlessly beautiful nature of her inspirations. Each of Jennie's pieces are meticulously made by hand in Los Angeles from the finest materials.

My favorite Jennie Kwon pieces below!
