'Cuffed

I spent the weekend in the water at our family cottage. It was hot, sunny, and all around the perfect summer weekend. 

This weekend I also tried out a new summer accessory - the anklet. Anklets are the perfect summer jewelry piece.  While ankles are hidden beneath pants and boots for much of the year, summer is the time for showing off those gams! Nothing draws attention down better than an anklet.

Celebrity Jewelry Style: Rachel McAdams

First things first, how is it possible that Rachel McAdams looks amazing with every single hair colour? That's just not fair. Aside from seeming refreshingly humble, being a fellow Canadian, and a true style chameleon, Rachel has great accessorizing prowess. Never over doing it, and choosing pieces that fit beautifully with her attire, Rachel has a simple yet dramatic jewelry style. Playing off her ever-changing hair colour, she seems to choose retro glam earrings while blonde, edgier pieces (like stacked rings) while a redhead, and dramatic classics (such as a bold cocktail ring) as a brunette. Trend Spotting: Getting Lippy

Bisou bisou! Puckering up has never been easier thanks to the help from some lip inspired jewelry. Lips are popping up everywhere - wrapped around fingers and dangling from ears!  I am a big fan of the Solange Azagury Partridge enamel lip rings and I recently fell hard for the Lulu Frost lip (and pearl teeth!) necklace. Do or Don't? Druzy Agate Stones

Confession: I can't be an impartial voice in this edition of "Do or Don't".  I am full-on obsessed with druzy agate stones these days. But I do want to hear what you think about them! To me, there is something so breathtaking and unique about each crystal-like stone.  These stones are complex and one of a kind - they're rugged and feminine, and natural and candy coloured, all at the same time. Alphabet Soup

There is no question that people love wearing personalized things. This is especially true when it comes to representing their initials. It's like giving away a little secret, "Hey, my name starts with 'A' and I love it. But that's all I'll tell you."

Then came the "baby initial trend" adding fuel to the initial's fire. Made popular by chic celebrity Moms like Nicole Richie and Katie Holmes who proudly donned their kid's initials after they were born, it is now quite common to wear your child's initial on a pendant. Jessica Simpson even wore an "M" pendant before baby Maxwell was born, giving a big hint about her baby's name and making baby stalkers drool. Celebrity Moms tend to favor Jennifer Meyer's Diamond Letter necklaces. Confession: I can totally see myself doing this when the time comes :)

And now, thanks to bloggers like Blair Eadie, monogrammed jewelry is totally in vogue. While traditionally reserved for fancy towels and robes, monograms have shaken off their stuffy vibe for one that is now decidedly cool.
