One Look, Three Ways: Convertible Jacket

This convertible jacket by Tart Collections is perfect for damp, fall weather. I wore mine yesterday while getting coffee in the rain with my sweet little family. The fabric is perfect for drizzly, autumnal weather. The best part? The sleeves and hood zip off for an instant style change. Puffy vests are so in style this season.

Embracing Fall: Coats, Booties, and Moody Jewelry

Wearing: Zara Coat, Cake for Breakfast tee, Piperlime booties (similar), Rebecca Minkoff bag (similar), American Eagle sunglasses

Look at me posing like a personal style blogger by some graffiti downtown. This is harder (and more embarassing!) than it looks. Bloggers make it look so easy. Maybe it is easy for the effortless cool and beautiful. I kind of wanted to run and hide every time someone walked by.

I am loving this Zara jacket with faux leather sleeves for fall. And I couldn't be more excited to be wearing boots again! I finished off the look with a soft ampersand tee, dark jewelry, and some shades.

Summer Favorites

Here's a round-up of my summer favorites! I can hardly believe it's almost September and the summer is nearly over (hashtag "things white girls say"). I thought before we get too deep into Fall fashion I'd do a round-up of the products I've been loving over the summer months. Here are my faves in fashion, beauty, and around the home.

Fashion:
1. This American Eagle jean jacket is a great layering piece for throwing on during those cool August nights (or not so hot days).
2. Dolce Vita black sandals with gold bar - I wore these non-stop this summer. The gold detail is perfect sparkly little detail.
3. Jennie Kwon Onyx ring - I've posted about this ring so much I should be blue in the face. But it's my favorite so it deserves to be mentioned again!
4. Ariel Gordon Lariat necklace - This is at the top of my wishlist right now.

Beauty:
5. BUMBLE AND BUMBLE Hairdresser's Invisible Oil - This stuff tames even the most dry and frazzeled summer hair. It is my holy grail product du jour.
6. Nars The Muliple in Copacabana - This gives me a subtle summer glow, without going over the top. It highlights like a champ.
7. Maybelline Color Whisper in Oh La Lilac - The perfect sheer pop color for summer.
8. Try Nars Nepal eyeshadow for that "Blake Lively" beachy look.

Home:
9. Good Morning Beautiful Mug. What a way to start the day!
10. Gold heart - This gold heart is on my wishlist for baby girl's nursery. I think her doctor Daddy would approve.
11. Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand Blender. I have used this hand blender nearly every morning this summer to make a breakfast smoothie.
My current fave: 1 cup of milk, 1 heaped tbsp on peanutbutter, 1 banana, and 1 package of Starbucks instant via coffee.
12. Orange is the New Black - PTL for Netflix because summer TV is non-existent.

Trend Spotting: Braided Jewelry

There is something about summer that brings out the braids. Think french-braided buns, tiny accent braids sweeping across your crown, and braided jewelry. Friendship bracelets abound in the summer and one of the easiest and quickest ways to work your embroidery thread or chord is to braid it. Other designers have used heavier metal material for braiding for a look that is decidedly grown-up yet laid back. Here are my favorite braided jewelry below!

1. Lia braided friendship bracelet, Lauren Elan
2. Orange and Metallic braided bracelet, MANGO
3. Braided Stone Chain bracelet, BCBG
4. Gabriela Artigas, Braided Choker
5. Aurelie Bidermann, Braided Bracelet
6. AURELIE  BIDERMANNMiki 18-karat gold plated braided necklace
7. Pink braided bracelet, Piperlime
8. Long Braided Necklace, LOFT

Celebrity Jewelry Style: Emma Stone

Style setter, hair chameleon, and hot actress, Emma Stone has a lot going for her. It girl du jour, Emma seems to have a new movie coming out every other week and we get to ogle her red carpet and promotional outfits from afar.

For her go-to look, Emma tends sweep back her lust-worthy locks and accent those doll-like features with statement earrings. Her other go-to accessory? An interesting necklace. Rarely opting for the dainty version, Emma chooses necklaces that are big and bold. See below for some Emma Stone jewelry inspiration and how you can get the look for less!

3. Sabine, Beaded and Metal Triple Row Necklace
4. Vanessa Mooney, The Mesa Dangle Earrings

Get the Look for Less: Poppy Delevingne

The always stylish Poppy Delevigne grabbed my attention with this girly meets rocker look. And the focal point of this outfit? Her showstopping necklace.

Her necklace is none other than Lulu Frost, which she paired with a Jonathan Saunders skirt, a yellow handbag, and a simple white tee!
Lulu Frost's Offshore Necklace.

Here's how you can get this same feminine edgy look for less!

Necklace, Urban Outfitters / Lot78 tee, Nordstrom / Ikat skirt, Forever 21 / Yellow Tote, Piperlime / Nude Heals, Piperlime

Seasonal Look: Metallic Accessories for Winter

In my opinion, the best time for shinny, icy, metallic accessories is in the winter. The high shine finish is reminiscent of winter, snow, and ice and actually brightens an otherwise dull look.  So throw on your favourite metallic bracelet for a blinding arm-party or pop on those reflective sunglasses to keep the glare out of your eyes. Any way you choose to wear it, metallic accessories are just right for winter.

1. Alexander McQueen Metallic glossed-leather cardholder
2. Rebecca Minkoff Heart Bracelet
3. Deepa Gurnani Metallic Petal Cuff
4. Ray-Ban Mirrored Cats 5000 Aviator Sunglasses
5. Rebecca Minkoff Little Louie Metallic Leather Key Pouch
6. CC Skye Pave Studded Cuff
7. Hive & Honey Hammered Metal Cuff
8. Michael Kors Glam Studded High Top
9. Kate Spade Passport Holder
10. House of Harlow 1960 Skull Vial Necklace
11. Free People Metallic Belt

Celebrity Jewelry Style: Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has the classic west coast laid back look down.  With her tousled tresses, perfectly fitted jeans, and killer bod, it would be hard for her to look bad, even if she tried.  She keeps things simple sticking with neutral colors, tried and true silhouettes, and highlighted hair that is the envy of blondes everywhere.  Hollywood's Golden Girl also has a thing for gold.  She chooses dainty necklaces and gold bangles for daytime and chandelier earrings for the red carpet. See below for more laid back jewelry inspiration!
Get the look!

Red Carpet-Worthy Earrings: For a night out or a red carpet event, Jen loves her earrings. Look for long, dramatic pairs that will show even through your perfectly tousled waves. I've got my eye on:
1. Sabine / 2. Hive & Honey / 3. Kate Spade /

Gold Bangles: Jen loves layering thin gold bangles for a signature clean look. I love these ones from Piperlime: 1. Sabine / 2. Kate Spade / 3. Marc by Marc Jacobs / 4. Michael Kors / 5. Hive & Honey

Layered and Looped Necklaces: Jen has a unique take on necklace. She likes to layer multiple dainty chains or loop an extra long necklace around, creating a loop high on the neck and one dangling below the bust. I love this look. You could try it with these options: 1. Tasha / 2. Tory Burch / 3. Gorjana

Do you like Jennifer Aniston's jewelry style?

One Piece, Three Ways: Holiday Necklace

The mercury is dropping and it's beginning to at least look like the holidays are just around the corner. Everywhere I look - department stores, coffee shops, book stores - Christmas trees are popping up and red, silver, and gold are sparkling away. For me, the "red cup" at Starbucks signals the official launch of the holidays season, and well, I got one over the weekend.

All of this holiday cheer got me thinking about festive jewelry and accessories.  The necklaces tend to be bigger; the earrings, fancier; and the bracelets, sparklier.

Let's start with the necklaces. Look for a versatile piece that you can wear with a party dress or jeans. Stick with silver or gold or mixed metals. You don't really need to add in color here.  Look for a piece that you wouldn't likely wear in the summer. Think crystals, pearls, and other heavy gems. This Kenneth Cole Urban Glitz Link Necklace from Piperlime is a good example.
